CC Candyland
Anyone else play that board game when you were a kid? In this variation, we make maps and send them out looking for treats: some healthy, some not so much. The group who was sent first to the bucket with raisins asked if the whole thing were a joke.
Each bucket also has a colored marker in it so the group can prove they were there. Fun!

Candyland
Last official day of practice: CC Candyland! We normally do this *much*
earlier in the season, but we had a very wet year for the course, and it never quite fit
into the schedule. Better late than never! It's always amazing how hard
runners will work for treats. ;)

Games
"Whipemsockoff" is a new game in development, for which we need to work out a few quirks. :D But overall everyone was a good sport about it, and we'll see if it survives the end-of-season popularity poll!

CC Poker
This year's game of CC Poker ended up more like 7-Card Draw--because we kept sending them out for more cards. :D Fun gauge of improved endurance over last year. And a great way to learn how to use a map!

Chilly
What do you do for end-of-season morale when it's cold and raining? Go for a run, play a game, and come back to the barn for hot cider and popcorn. Of course you do. ;)

Poker Run
In our continual pursuit of running gimmicks, we've introduced our newest game: Cross Country Poker. We sent the runners out with maps of the neighborhood, showing them where to find cards. Teams had to report back to Home Base after retrieving each card. Five card draw, best hand wins.

Candyland
New and improved Cross Country Candyland this year, after putting our daughter in charge of the redesign. Of course that meant running for *real* candy...but only in certain buckets, and they had to *work* for it. ;)
