  • June 13 - July 29, 2017 (minus July 1-7 per MSHSL rules): OPTIONAL running* at the Swansons', Tuesday evenings (7:00-8:30 P.M.) and Saturday mornings (8:00-9:30 A.M.).You must have your sports physical and signed registration/liability forms to participate. • Fri 8/4 (9:45-12:15 A.M.): Team service day! Help set up for Hanover Harvest Festival (5K run to be held 8/5). This is to thank the City of Hanover for our team practice and banquet space.
  • Captains’ Practice*: First two weeks of August; days/times/locations TBD. Captains: Naomi Brenden, Sienna Chernyavsky, and Phillip Kippley.

(*Pre-season attendance is optional but encouraged--a great time to get together with your running buddies.)

T-shirts awarded for 2017 CC team runners logging summer miles (June 1 - August 13, 2017) at pre-season team runs or on your own. Junior high (entering grades 7-8): 150 miles (girls & boys). JV/Varsity (entering grades 9-12): 200 miles (girls), 250 miles (boys). Bonus! Long sleeves *or* name on back optional if you log an additional 50 miles. Mileage (no name) printed on back for a minimum 300 miles (girls) or 400 miles (boys), rounded down to the nearest 50. See Team Handbook for details and cross-training allowances. See Training Plans (or ask a coach) to gradually increase your mileage. Online logging required via eTRaXC; contact us for a free account.

Official Season: August 14 - October 28, 2017 (November 4 for State qualifiers). Junior high racing season is slightly shorter.

Regular-Season Practices: To be considered for meets, you must maintain 75%+ attendance (varsity lettering standards are higher), plus one day of running on your own. We are offering flexibility but expect JV/Varsity (high school) athletes to train at least 5x/week (Junior High 4x/week). If your schedule requires you to miss a day of practice, you must complete the assigned workout sometime that day and report it to the coaches via my-eTRaXC before the next practice. Varsity spots will depend on performance *and* logging your workouts. See team handbook for further explanation.

Race/Event Schedule (*TENTATIVE and subject to change. Do not print this in May and expect it to look the same in October. :) )... JV/Varsity (high school) athletes begin with the 2 mile and work up to the 5K (3.1 mi); Junior High races vary but are shorter (closer to 1.5 mi). All runners race at each meet unless otherwise noted. MSHSL RULES EMPHASIS: JV/Varsity athletes may only compete in events that match their race distance (i.e., 5K fun runs) before Labor Day. After that, during the CC season, the event must be at least 1K different in length. We recommend not racing outside CC during the regular season.

One more thing! Fri 11/10: 6:00-9:00 P.M. End-of-Season Celebration & Awards Night, Hanover City Hall. Every athlete is honored individually, so you will *not* want to miss this! Dress is business casual. Families with quiet siblings welcome. :) Potluck. RSVP to Banquet Team Leader.

*Participation in service days, fundraisers, and promotions counts toward your Presidential Volunteer Service Award hours!
